She is Daddy's Angel...Wait....What?

Conversation between mother and daughter overhead by father with father's thoughts interspersed:

[Daughter, 16.9 years old, drags into kitchen in the morning clearly having trouble getting started for the day of christmas shopping and other errands]

Mother: I thought you were going to bed early last night.

Daughter: I did, but then I started watching TV...

Father (to himself): I am going to be sorry I ran that cable.

Daughter: ...and stopped on this show on the Food Network...

Father: Well at least it was something sort of educational. Maybe she caught an Alton Brown marathon.

Daughter: ... call Paula's Party...

Father: Paula Deen? Fascinating TV? Since when?

Daughter: ... She had these six HOT guys on the show and I just couldn't turn it off.

Father: ... ... ...

Hey, it beats finding out she's been watching Tila Tequila's Shot of Love or something equally raunchy.

No question. She is such a quiet child that I forget sometimes that she is 16.9 and has the usual young woman thoughts and feelings.

To have her blurt it out in the kitchen in front of her father was somehow both startling and refreshing.
